This week the 2018 PGA Championship will take place at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Mo. It’ll be the 100th time the PGA Tour’s fourth major will be played. This year, seven multiple winners on tour this season, the top 30 in the FedExCup and four-time PGA Champion Tiger Woods will be competing for the Wanamaker Trophy.
But before the tournament kicks off, let’s take a look at the worst shot in golf history that took place at the 1992 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club.
Tom Kite was coming off a U.S. Open victory earlier that season and you’d think his golf swing would be in prime time form. However, Kite stepped onto the 11th tee box and saw his day get even rougher with just one swing. Kite shanked his tee shot right into the gallery on the left side and it looked like it may have hit a few fans. My favorite part of the video besides Kite’s reaction is when Fred Couples hits right after Kite. If you look closely you’ll see the gallery on the left duck a little before Couples hits his shot as they were a little on their toes from Kite’s shank.
