The WGCA Just Dropped its First Golf Rankings for the Upcoming Season

As the 2018-19 women’s college golf season gets underway, the first team rankings dropped Tuesday. There was a battle for the top spot but UCLA slipped ahead of Alabama for the No. 1-ranking. Lilia Vu (pictured above) is a big reason the Bruins are ahead of every other team in the nation. The UCLA senior rounded out the 2018 summer helping Team USA win the Espirito Santo Trophy in Dublin, Ireland last week. It was the first time in 20 years Team USA won the event at the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship. Vu fired a 288-two under par as Team USA beat Japan in the biennial event by 10 strokes at Carton House (Montgomerie and O’Meara Courses).
