The ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf, ever heard of it? Golf fans most likely. Nongolf fans that have heard of the event are sports bettors.
Tonight the ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf is in its final round after chilly and windy weather was a factor in round three at the Metropolitan Golf Club in South Oakleigh, Victoria, Australia.
Sweden’s Alexander Bjork and Joakim Lagergren sit at -13-under par (six strokes behind leaders from Belgium) and face off against Australia at 7:06 p.m. The Australian duo is four-time PGA Tour champion Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith and is favored to win the matchup at -190.
Having a guy like Leishman on your team will give you that advantage that’s how Australia is tied for fifth with Sweden along with England, however, Sweden at +150 is the bet this evening.
Bjork may be making his first appearance at this event and but he does have five Top 10 finishes and a win on the European Tour this season. His partner, Lagergren has posted five Top 25 finishes this year on the same tour that includes a victory at the Rocco Forte Siliclian Open.
Sweden isn’t as flashy and hasn’t had the success that Australia has had in the past but I’d put money on Bjork and Lagergren to win this match straight up. Out of all the matchups tonight Sweden is the largest underdog but the duo with the highest payoff.
